This week....

will be dedicated to all things "owly"!

First up on the homefront, my latest "owly" acquisition -

Imagine my excitement when I spotted this at the entrance to one of my favourite sourcing destinations. I could hardly contain myself!

Isn't he fantastic? He looks good with or without flowers and  I'm thinking that he would look great incorporated into a Christmas display. At $20.00, he is a truly wonderful find - WOO!HOO!

Stayed tuned for Wednesday's "Owly Shopping Guide".

Happy, happy  Monday to you!

As of this weekend....

There are only seven weeks left until Christmas. Yikes!

If you are anything like me, the thought of having to venture out into the land of the shopping centre, fighting the crowds and scrambling for a parking space is a major source of angst, causing many a sleepless night just thinking about it.

FEAR NOT!  This week the wonderful Ez of Creature Comforts has launched Gifted. This is a truly beautiful online publication not only full of Christmas decorating inspiration and special freebies but it also  includes a "Mega Gift Guide"  - very handy!

Just some of the loveliness waiting inside -

So what are you waiting for? It's time to start shopping!
Hope your weekend is wonderful,

Exquisite!

Image via here
I have had The Exquisite Book on my Amazon Wishlist for a little while now (Hint! Hint!) but today I have learned that the lovely Ellie from Mint is giving one away!

In case you are not familiar with the book, it is a modified version of the game Exquisite Corpse . Played by one hundred (ten groups of ten) designers, illustrators and artists, the first artist was given a few words to get them started with their drawing. All of the artists following saw only the drawing that was immediately before their own. This way, their drawing continued the story and also provided the inspiration for the artist immediately following them.

You can get the idea of how it works via here -

Now back to the giveaway! You need to leave a comment on Ellie's blog by next Tuesday, November 9th and the winner will be announced on Wednesday, November 10th.

Of course I'll wish you luck but you know that I really hope that it's me who wins!

Yippee!

I know that I don't usually post on a Tuesday but I am so excited that I just had to share!

Today my blog was given a mention over at Kerry's lovely blog, seventy tree. This is the first time that this has happened to me and I am thrilled to bits. Kerry's blog is so beautiful and, with regular posts, there is always something new to read about when you visit. So what are you waiting for? Jump on over and take a look!

And if that wasn't enough excitement for one day, I also won $25.00 in our Melbourne Cup Sweep. Good horsie!

Happy Tuesday to you

And they're off...

"Lucky Horse Shoes" avaiable from PickyPickyShop
Hello and happy November to you all!

Here in Australia, the first Tuesday in November is Melbourne Cup Day so in honour of "The Race That Stops A Nation", I thought I'd do a little Etsy  post about things equine!

First up some interesting options on the decorating front -

Available from here

Vintage Horse Show Ribbons. Attached to the corner of a picture frame (as shown above), as a stand alone piece or a few grouped together, they make for an interesting visual display and a cool talking point.

Or how about some prints -

These are sooo lovely and are two for the price of one until November 15th. Great for a kids' space don't you think?! Available from WildLifePrints

If you don't want to put things on your walls, how about this cute plushie

or a chalkboard horse

I sooo want some of these!

If equine decorating is not your thing then how about something wearable like a badge

or maybe a ring is your thing -

The choice is yours!

PS Did you guess which bear belongs to me? It's -

Greta! Here she is at my place - she is so sweet!
