something above the ordinary, flags are a lot of fun when it comes to decorating.

My favourite type of flags though are those of the bunting variety.

Happy weekend and I hope you enjoyed having a little fun with flags on this very sunny Friday!

Almost...

Kevvie and me, StephieB!

famous!

Ikea was a lot of fun last Friday - it was good to catch up with the family over meatballs and pick up some sweet things for Christmas.

The most fun of all though was being able to pose for the cover of your very own Ikea Catalogue which was yours to take home with you. What a cool idea!

And, if you too like the idea of gracing the cover of a magazine, the good news is that there is still time to make it happen - you just need to visit Ikea Tempe this weekend. I guess it helps to live in Sydney too!

Happy Wednesday,

Earlier this year...

a certain gorgeous girl was very excited to be celebrating her eighth birthday -

And, in true "girly" fashion, a horse theme was requested.

I could not believe my luck when I found some super cool horse wrapping paper and, from there -

a pink, aqua -

and white -

horse party came to life -

making said birthday girl very happy indeed!

And that's a wrap for this equine related week!

I am signing off early today as I am heading off to go shopping. Sydney's first full sized Ikea opened yesterday. It's 2.5km from the entry to the exit - Retail Therapy and a workout all in one - what more could a girl want?!

May your weekend be wonderful,

Giddyup!

This week it's all about "The Race That Stops A Nation" (quite literally!) here in Australia and so, as a tribute to things equine, today I thought I'd share some rather amazing contemporary rocking horses.

They can be colourful in plastic -

or look beautiful in timber -

And whether they are more literal -

sculptural -

or abstract -

in appearance, I am sure that they would make a great talking point in anyone's home.

Now I know that I am usually a girl who prefers  her things vintage but I have to admit that I am a little smitten with these and I hope you like them too!

Happy, happy Wednesday,

Mirror, mirror...

Lovely as stand alone pieces -

vintage mirrors can make quite the decorating statement!

They look beautiful in bedrooms -

Vintage mirrors also can be quite a talking point when used in ways unexpected, whether it be in smaller groupings -

or on a grander scale -

I have collected quite a few vintage mirrors over the years and I love having them displayed around my home. Maybe there are those of you out there that also have your own collections, or maybe you now feel inspired to start collecting!

Happy Wednesday and remember -

Whimsical wallpapers....

"Christopher"

for you -

"Aleister Crowley"

on a -

"Cattle Kate"

Wednesday!

I have been an admirer of the "Grow House Grow!" wallpapers for a little while now and I love that Katie has just released her 2011 "Time Line" collection -

"Hotel Fantome"

"Ode to the Unhasty"

"Chochin"

What I love even more is that each design has a story behind it, my favourite being "Ms Ward" -

a tribute to a rather wonderful woman with a passion for science.

The thing that I love most of all though is that I have just ordered some samples for my place -

"Captain Smith"

so watch this space!

Even if wallpapering a wall really isn't your thing, the samples are a good size and would look rather lovely when framed- so maybe you could set up your own little gallery?!

Hope your Wednesday is wonderful,
Stephie x
