Babushka, babushka...

We all know how they look traditionally but I think it's true to say that babushkas can look equally as lovely when translated into other mediums.

They make beautiful dolls-

and wearables -

Babushka: messenger bag, pendant, brooch, skirt, hair pins and dress

and look great when used to decorate a space -

Wall stickers by LoveMae, cute pillows by sugarandfig and prints by Munieca - either side of this gorgeous ottoman

Babushkas are rather cool when made into things that are graphic and quirky -

"Zombie 3", part of a very cool "babushka" series by Artmind , "Matryoshka Family" wall stickers, Custom Family Portrait Matryoshka by Luvin Every Minute, "The Family Vampyre" Babushka dolls by bobobabushka, "My Little Bird" Babushka pincushion by twocrowsart and Nautical Russiann Dolls pillowcases by wengergirl

and they can embrace multiculturalism -

  6. Hello:
We have so enjoyed looking at the wide variety of 'babushkas' that you show here. You are so right in that there has to be one for every taste and every situation from this extremely comprehensive collection.

We have always wanted a set of Russian dolls which fit inside each other and, perhaps when we make our long planned visit to Moscow, we shall obtain them at last. As we spend most of our time in Budapest, the journey is not too difficult but the paperwork is unbelievably complicated.

We have really enjoyed reading previous posts. You have a most intereting and stylishly presented blog, to which we shall return!
