Let's ...

escape!

Image via: Oryana

I don't know about the rest of you but I am very glad that summer is almost over here in Australia. It's been very long and very, very hot! At last, we can breathe a sigh of relief and look forward to some cooler autumn days. And for those of you on the other side of the globe I know that the warmer spring days can't come quickly enough for you! So...

what better way to celebrate being able to venture back into the great outdoors without sustaining third degree burns or frostbite than  to escape to somewhere pretty with a picnic in tow!

You can make it simple and rustic -

or vintage retro -

A little bit beachy -

Clockwise from the top left: The Tablescaper, Fashezine, a simple life afloat, kitchenisms, Chicago Wedding Photography, A Beach Cottage and countrydays

or find a pretty green patch somewhere -

Travelling clockwise from the top: M'sArtImpressions, 5 Crown Kabinky, Design* Sponge, new(e)gear, M'sArtImpressions, Dreamstime and Folksy

You really don't even have to travel at all. It can be as simple as taking a blanket and some food into your own backyard-

There's lots of ways to "get away", so why don't you plan an "escape" of your own for this weekend?!

  6. What a lovely post - you're right a picnic is a great idea for this weekend. Hubby is on hols till next wed and the kids are too for another 10 days, a picnic in the garden would be fun. It doesn't take much does it to feel as if you're having a break.

  7. Oh what lovely images. I want to go on holiday now. But I like your idea of an escape in your own yard too.
How bizarre that you have the exact quote as my castles post, that is fabulous.
Good to hear you like Toni. She is great.
Oh those images are dreamy. I love the little radio and I would rather like the little tea cups.
