Lets talk about...

Image via bittersugar

I don't know about the rest of you but I cannot bear mushrooms. It's the thought of eating fungus that I find somewhat unappealing and, really, what's the point when there are so many more yummy food options out there?!

When it comes to using them in other contexts, however,  the humble mushroom suddenly becomes a lot more attractive. So today, it's all about bringing a little "mushroom magic" of the non edible kind into our lives.

Most of the time when thinking of mushrooms, red and white typically springs to mind -

Clockwise from the top: "Wonderful World I"print by ValeroDoval, "Mushroom" A3 print by PeaPress, mushroom cottage, mushroom house, toadstool scatter cushion, edible chocolate filled mushrooms (the only kind I would eat!), forest mushrooms clutch bag, set of three Gnomeland mushrooms from ratbeancat

crisp and fresh, yes, but how beautiful do they look when the tones are -

muted

From top left and clockwise: balsam fir sachets, "Mushroom Hill" print by daphnecellophane, felted fungus mushroom pincushion, woodland tree branch pillow, handmade mushrooms for terrariums from aivyls85, vintage specimen chart

  pretty and pink

From top to bottom, left to right: "Mushroom Girl" print, toadstool card by Caragh11, "Little Mushroom No 9" by NatureMandalas - I can't believe that this is a photo!, "Fungi" print by groundwork, vintage poison specimens chart in coral from VintageScraps, "Dainty Toadstools" reuseable fabric wall stickers by lovemaestore, "Mushrooms on a Log" from MuddyFeet , mushroom jar by lbegley

dark and mysterious

From top to bottom: "Slow Growth" framed collage, "Amelia Mushroom" doll by cartbeforethehorse, green Japanese mushroom cushion from oomadesigns, "Mushroom Print 1" on vintage book page by CrowBiz, collage, "The Time Keeper", "Mushrooms" print by onegiftoneworld, "Mushrooms" fine art photo, antique sterling silver thimble planter from doodlebirdie

and, of course, mushrooms can also make a space fun when used in artwork that's a little left of centre!

Clockwise from the top: Mushrooms watercolour art print, "Living Among the Mushrooms" by thejellyempire, "Now That I've Found You" by seasprayblue, "The Fungi Sisters off to..." by AFancifulTwist , "Mushroom People" by jenniferbaughan, "Yap Singing Sailor Mushrooms" by yapyapyap - I love it!

So there you have it, a little Mycology for you on a Monday - it just goes to show that mushrooms don't always have to be part of a salad, not that they ever are at ChezB!

  3. I love mushrooms, they feel like a magical plant born in a fairytale. You should try them in pasta, they have a less 'fungi' taste, I swear!

Very cute invitation & design boards!
